BYKIE APPOINTS THREE-PERSON ANTI-DOPING POLICY COMMITTEE FOR ANDIJICH  HEARING PEASE MAGIC TOO LATE TO SAVE DAVID/DAMIAN
PZ/SCRATCHIE READY, THE TRI SERIES BEGINS
David Pease recaptured some of his old magic last week, even if it came   too late to stop Travis/David beating David/Damian in a BYKIE match at   Blackadder last week.

Pease, after being loose early, finished with 2-15 from 5 overs in his   second match since injuring his bowling elbow more than a month ago.

He said he was very happy with the way he bowled but was still unsure   when he would be 100 percent.

In David/Damian's innings, part-time left-arm bowler David Dibiase   showed what could be done on the pitch with 1-18 from 5 overs.

Dibiase, with Travis Smith (0-23), was mainly responsible for   restricting Pz/Scratchie to a competitive total.

Only David Pease (28) and Damian Morey (13) got runs, none of them   speedily.

Pease said he would see how he pulled up in the morning and consult   with physiotherapist Glen Keenan before making further decisions.

With Pease starting to weave his magic at one end and Damian Morey   putting in a tight 5 overs for 1-27 at the other, Travis/David's   progress faltered.

But Dibiase got them within reach before Travis Smith got them home.
David/Damian's tri series players stroll around with the confident air,  the swagger, of a team in control of its own destiny, knowing their  biggest dangers over the next few weeks are themselves.

They will start favourites.

"It's something we don't think about," said David Pease.

"We just go about our business, working hard, training hard and trying  to improve ourselves all the time."

Miracles don't always happen.

"In early BYKIE we weren't playing well and almost played ourselves out  of tournaments," he said.

"We have to make sure we're sharp at the start of this tournament."

At the end of this tournament, most likely, will be Craig/Brett,  spurred on by a rumbling groundswell of support. David/Damian versus  Craig/Brett at Blackadder - what an occasion that would be.

"Everyone is on track for that," said Pease.

"To have Damian out of the side at one time would be a bit of a worry  for us. Damian keeps telling me that he's right to go."

David/Damian will train at Blackadder tomorrow then set up camp for two  days.

Like David/Damian's squad, it looks very good on paper.
BYKIE today announced that the BYKIE Anti-Doping Committee to hear a  case alleging a breach of BYKIE's anti-doping by Brett Andijich will  comprise the Honourable Mr David Gear of the Court of Appeal; medical  specialist Dr Melanie Knight and BYKIE player Damian Morey.

David Pease said a hearing date will be set once the current BYKIE Drug  Agency testing of the sample provided by Brett Andijich on 26 January  2003 is complete.

Court Judge, the Honourable Mr Justice Craig Stein, who has previously  chaired the BYKIE Anti-Doping Committee, has ruled himself out of this  case because, as a barrister, his Honour acted for Brett Andijich in a  short procedural matter about 3 years ago.

Mr Pease said the BYKIE Event Technical Committee has also said that if  replaced, Andijich could not then be subsequently re-instated.

"At the moment, we are holding off making a decision until the BYKIE  Anti-Doping Committee hearing, providing that the hearing is reasonably  soon," Mr Pease said.
THE OTHER RAV DOES IT FOR TD
As TD's David Dibiase made 1, it was Travis/David's Travis Smith who   made the difference in the BYKIE match at Blackadder.

Smith, in the sixth BYKIE match of his career for TD, blasted out   Pz/Scratchie's top order to set up a two wicket win for Trav/Drav.

The 18-year-old has now taken ten wickets from his six BYKIE matches at   an impressive average of 6.9.

Morey said,"We were about 20 runs short."

"It was a pretty good pitch and we just played some loose shots and   paid the price."

Morey said he would have batted had he won the toss, despite the pitch   offering some assistance to the bowlers in the morning.

Dibiase said,"Smith bowled beautifully."

"He was superb and to go at a top class batting side like that was a   magnificent effort."

The two teams now head to the tri series which gets underway on   Tuesday.
DAVID/DAMIAN CRUSHES TRAVIS/DAVID, DIBIASE LIVID
David/Damian crushed Travis/David by three wickets in their BYKIE clash    last week.

It took Pz/Scratchie just 6 overs to rip through Trav/Drav before   batsman Damian Morey and David Pease cruised to victory in   David/Damian's 6th over - all before the match's scheduled drinks   break.

Travis/David's tally of 11 prompted a livid David Dibiase to slam the   casual approach of some players towards training sessions and warned   those late to any session this year would be punished.

Travis Smith top scored for Travis/David with 11, while Dibiase failed   to bother the scorer.

There were few excuses for Travis/David as Pz/Scratchie's wicketkeeper   stood up to the medium pacers of Damian Morey and Pease on what   appeared to be a flat wicket.

Dibiase said his team failed to respond to a midweek team meeting where   each player's performance were put under the spotlight.

It was Travis/David's second lowest score in BYKIE matches - only   Scott/Misty, 9 against Dale/Cameron and Travis/David, 10 against   David/Damian, have recorded lower scores.

Morey top scored with 8 not out and partner Pease was 4.

The teams finished with an extra match as a result of the early finish.
BLACKMAN TO REMAIN IN BYKIE
Dale Blackman will retain his place in BYKIE, despite suffering a high-grade overload to his schedule, BYKIE announced today.

David Pease said Blackman, who suffered the overload this week, was considered a vital part of BYKIE's tri series campaign.

Blackman's tri series prospects were given a boost today after diagnostic scans revealed the overload would only keep him sidelined for two or three days.

"It is obviously a big relief, and it's now up to me to do whatever it takes to get the overload down," added Blackman.

The tri series will start this week.
